{Because of you...}

Hello everyone!

Here is my layout inspired by the amazing September mood board.  I just love the colours of this mood board.

Here is the mood board.

and here is my layout.

 How absolutely amazing is this title and so very true.  The title as well as the leaves #2 were embossed with white embossing powder.

The Paddock Fence Set were first covered with white crackle texture paste.  Once completely dry I inked the fence with brown ink, and dry brushed with white gesso for a more distressed look.

All the foliage, leaves and Wattle blossoms were first covered with white gesso and then painted with acrylic paint and dry bushed with gesso.  I snipped the leavy frame in pieces and tucked them under the flower clusters.

Here are a few more close ups.

When everything was glued down I added art stones, splatters with diluted white gesso and black ink.

These are the Dusty Attic chipboard pieces that I used.

{Picture Pefect...}

Hello everyone!

I am sharing my September design team project with you. I used a combination of old and new chippies.  I used the Whimsy paper from the Kaisercraft Enchanted Collection. Guest designer Chrissy Tingey inspired me with her beautiful layout on the Kaisercraft blog.

It is Spring in South-Africa, a wonderful season full of light, colour and new life.

This is a true story...

Life is full of surprises!  Early one morning I noticed this little fairy in my garden, boots and all! Fairies are very shy creatures and I only managed to get a photo of this little one from behind, I can just imagine how cute and pretty she must be.  I think she is a fairy in training, as she was still in diapers.  She must be a very special fairy because she was accompanied by Tinkerbell and tiny butterflies.  She must be very fond of my garden, every morning she leaves the tiniest footprints behind, sprinkled with fairy dust...and then I feel so blessed...

Here is my layout.

How amazing are these toadstools?!!  They were covered with coarse gesso, and once dry I painted them with beige acrylic paint.  The coarse parts were inked with Versa Magic in Hint of Pesto and Bronze Age Metallique Wax and the edges with Brilliance ink in Pearl Chocolate.

I covered the Wordpl@y #2 and #4 with white gesso, making sure I get into the letters.  Once dry I dry brushed the words  with Americana Acrylic Paint in Boysenberry Pink and Poodle Skirt Pink. The butterflies and flower buds were covered in the same manner.

The edges of the wood slices were inked with Versa Magic in Hint of Pesto.

The title and word disk were covered with white embossing powder and the spider web with silver embossing powder.

Some close ups.

When everything was glued down I added art stones and splatters of diluted white gesso and black ink.

 These are the Dusty Attic chipboard pieces that I used.

{Because I sparkle, that's why...}

Hello everyone!

Sister Tribe is the new stunning collection by Lady Pattern Paper and perfect for all the ladies in your life.  Also check out her Facebook page for more awesome inspiration.

The timing for this collection is perfect. South Africa has one of the highest rates of violence against women on the entire continent.   It is called "femicide" and the meaning horrifies me,  and seems to have touched every women of every walk of life, and from every social sphere. It has become an epidemic in South Africa. As a Sister Tribe we need to stand together, hold hands and support each other...and pray!  I salute the men who also stand up, speak out and act to stop violence and abuse against women.  The title of my layout is "Because I sparkle, that's why"... and I want to say this to all the little girls and women in this beautiful country of ours, you are beautiful, previous and you sparkle.

I used a photo of my daughter who is an amazing woman.

Here is my layout.

I used the Trellis paper as a base for my layout and trimmed the Mosaic paper at the top and left side and glued it to the Trellis paper. From the cut-out sheet I used the “Because I sparkle, that’s why” my title and fussy cut the “She has that spirited drive…” on the cut-out sheet and glued it onto card stock.

 These chippies are just stunning.  I embossed the lantern and trellis with white embossing powder. I snipped the swirls in three pieces and tucked them under the flower clusters.

When everything was glued down I added art stones and splatters with diluted white gesso and black ink.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I hope I inspired you.
Never forget to sparkle!
