{Live with purpose...}

 Hello 49 and Market fans!

Here is my first layout for June featuring the beautiful Vintage Artistry Essentials collection. This collection is natural, and the botanical designs are amazing and suitable for any photo. Such a romantic feel.  I used this photo of my daughter and changed the color cast of the photo to sepia.

For this layout I used the Savor paper. It was a big decision to decide what paper to use, as all the paper in this collection is just stunning. I used a leave stamp around the edge of the circle on the paper.

Here is my layout.

On the background I used rub-on transfers from the V/A Essentials and V/A Blush/Sage collections.  Here you can see how I used the leaves under my flower clusters, doilies ,script and butterflies and beads from the V/A Bush/Sage rub-on transfers.

I framed the photo with a frame from the 4x6 inch File Frame set and layered this on a square file frame and elements from the V/A Essentials Ephemera pack, which is loaded with great pieces. I also used a photo wrap from the V/A Anywhere laser cut sheet, for sure one of my favorite elements to use on a layout.  I also added a few chipboard stickers.
The "Live with purpose" banner is also the title of this layout.

To create the two flower clusters, I used Royal Spray Olive, Royal Posies, Royal Marble Posies, Maura"

s Vineyard in Chardonnay and Sugar Posies in Butterscotch.  I dry brushed the edges of the flowers with white gesso and Americana Acrylic paint in Green Mist, True Ochre and Oyster Beige as well as gold rub. I also added leaves, phrases and butterflies from the laser cut sheets and Ephemera bits.

The final touches to this layout included art stones and splatters with Distress Oxide in Dried Marigold and Peeled Paint as well as diluted white gesso.

{Best friends...}

 Hello everyone!

Here is my layout inspired by the beautiful May mood board and some stunning Dusty Attic chipboard pieces.

This layout celebrates the beautiful friendship between my daughter and her best friend Leani.  They said their goodbyes on Saturday morning when Leani and her husband Neil left for Australia.  I took these photos of the two girls in April 2012.  Leani borrowed these fur hats and shawls from her Gran and we had such a fun photo shoot.  I followed the shades of the mood board, but just brighter, as this is after all a celebration.

Journaling : We wish you a very safe and fulfilling journey abroad, and pray that the Lord guide your every move, and may this new journey bring you some of the most beautiful and magical experiences of your life. Your friends and family in South-Africa will miss you like crazy, but I am sure they are all happy for the opportunity you've got to experience life in another country.

Here is my layout.

and here is the mood board.

All the chippies were first covered with white gesso.

I colored the title with a white Uni Posca Paint Marker and the berries of the Foliage #16
with a pink Uni Posca Paint Marker.

I painted the Foliage #4 with Americana Acrylic Paint in Green Mist, Mint Julep Green,
Sour Apple and Whispering Turquoise and dry brushed with white acrylic paint.

The Foliage #14 were painted with Americana Acrylic Paint in Mint Julep Green and
dry brushed with white acrylic paint.

The ATC Frames and Fantasy Fronds were heat embossed with Ranger white
embossing powder.

Some close ups.

I used my favorite Wordpl@y elements.

These are the  Dusty Attic chipboard pieces that I have used.

Thank you for visiting the blog.  I hope find some time to play along with this beautiful
mood board.

{baby shark...}

 Hello everyone!

Welcome to the blog.  I am sharing my May blog post featuring my grandson James playing with his bath book, Silly Shark.  These photos remind me of the song, Baby Shark. I think we all know this popular, catchy and easy to memorize song and irresistible song to kids.  Once you hear this song it is stuck in your head for days.

This was such an easy fun layout to make. I used my Silhouette to cut out the shark, fish, crabs and jellyfish.

Here is my layout.

All the chippies were first covered with white gesso and then painted with Americana Acrylic paint. I also did some hand stitching on my layout.

These are the Dusty Attic chipboard pieces that I have used.

{anywhere...}

 Hello 49 and Market fans!

Here is my first layout for May and I am again using the stunning new Vintage Artistry Anywhere collection.  I used the April sketch as inspiration. This is the perfect collection to capture all your travel memories.  In my case, my children's travel memories.

This is my daughter and her husband on their Honeymoon in Thailand visiting the James Bond Island.

For this layout I used the bonus sheet and the B-side of the Edges paper. The details on the bonus sheet is just beautiful.  I tore the bones sheet in half and glued it to the Edges paper. Flowers are my favourite embellishments to use, and creating a layout without flowers is very challenging to me!

Here is my layout.

  I added more color to the edges and corners of both papers using a blending tool and Distress Oxides in Lucky Clover and Faded Jeans.  I used a stencil, finger dauber and the same Distress Oxides for the arrows and outlined them with a thin black pen.  I added a few stamps from my stamp collection.

I love the V/A Anywhere rub-on transfers from this collection.  They are amazing and includes 6 sheets to choose from.  The washi sheets are die cut elements and super fun to use. From the solid piece of washi sheet, also from the V/A Anywhere collection I cut two trips and used it on the left top corner and bottom right corner.
From the chipboard sticker sheet I used the word "Anywhere" as the title for this page.

I framed left side photo with a frame from the laser cut sheet, the one with the twine as well as a 4x6 frame from the frame set and the small photo on the right with a frame from the Square File Frame Set.  Both photos were layered on elements from the laser cut sheet and the Mix and Match Die-Cut Pieces.

I used a few Dusty Attic chipboard designs as well. I also have used one of the new gorgeous metal clips on the large photo.  I used the arrow clip. They come in Dark Greige and Rose Gold, an amazing new addition to 49 and Market.

I glued two of the V/A Anywhere wishing bubbles to the Geo Tags and raised them with foam tape.

To create the "link" between the two photos I used images from the Snapshots of Yesterday stamp set as well as the Gabi's line stitch stamp set. I also added phrases from the chipboard sticker sheet.  The beautiful tear strips at the bottom of every paper are great elements to use on your layout.  Here I used the arrows and heart border and another twine photo wrap die cut.

{wild and free...}

Hello 49 and Market Fans.

Here is my layout inspired by the May sketch featuring the stunning Vintage Artistry Everyday 12x12 collection and coordinates perfect with my photos.  I hope you find time to play along.

This is my daughter during our family vacation in Chobe, Botswana during December 2011.

One of the remarkable things that happen when you spend enough time in nature is that the environment become friendlier.  Something unbelievable happened to us during this vacation. One morning while enjoying our early morning coffee this Yellowy-bellied Bulbul sat on the backrest of my daughter's camping chair.  She stretched her hand out with some crumbs in and fearless the little guy jumped onto the palm of her hand, eating all the crumbs.  This became a daily ritual.

Of all the birding firsts you will ever experience, the one you will never forget is the moment a wild bird east out of your hand.  This story may sound unbelievable, but this is what can happen when you treat God's creation with reverence and love and not to eradicate or destroy it.

Here is the sketch.

For this layout I used the Lucent Ladies paper from the VA Everyday as the base, and the A and B-side of the Zealous paper cut in vertical strips, distressed and glued to the Lucent Ladies paper.

Next, I added VA Essentials and Everyday rub-on transfers only to the Zealous paper, top and bottom and to the tabs. Here you can also see the beautiful washi tape bird I used from the VA Essentials.  These are amazing and very easy to use.

I layered my photos on a selection of VA Everyday Ephemera Stack elements, frames from the 3x4 inch and 4x6 inch frame sets and elements from the beautiful laser cut sheets.

To create the flower clusters I used Sugar Posies in Butterscotch and the new Royal Posies in Olive. All the edges of the flowers were dry brushed with white gesso and yellow and olive acrylic paint. There are so many new flowers to choose from and they are just beautiful.

I used a stamp from the Best Ever set and a few Dusty Attic chipboard pieces.  This cute little bird in the nest is from one of the laser cut sheets and looks like the bird in the photos.

This layout is finished with splatters of diluted white gesso.
