{Happiness blooms from within...}

Hello everyone!

Spring is approaching fast in South Africa. The sun peaks over the horizon a little earlier each morning and warmer temperatures thaw out the cold days of winter.  We have had some wonderful weather in Pretoria this past few days.

Here is my layout inspired by the beautiful August mood board and lots of amazing chipboard pieces from both the new and old released. If you have not seen the new chippies you are seriously missing out!!!

This is my daughter- in- law a few years ago. She is always willing to pose for photos.  I am thankful for every opportunity I get to photograph my family.

Here is the mood board.

This is the sketch I used by Allison Davis

and here is my layout.

All the chipboard pieces were first primed with white gesso. These newly released Polaroid frame sets are just stunning!! I used the negative of the frame set as well.  I painted the frames with Americana acrylic paint in Melon and Blue Mist. I then inked the edges of the frames with .....and gold embossing powder.

The Swirls, also a new release along with the Foliage #8 were heat embossed using Ranger white embossing powder. I snipped the Swirls in four pieces and tucked them under the flower clusters.

I cut the Leafy Garland, also a new release in half and along with the Foliage #10 painted it with Americana acrylic paint in Blue Mist.

The little flowers peeking out here, also a new release I heat embossed using with Zing embossing powder in Mustard and Apricot.

I heat embossed the title with Zing embossing powder in Powder.

When everything was glued down I added Art Stones and splatters with diluted white gesso.

Some more close ups.

These are the Dusty Attic chipboard pieces that I used.

{Handsome charming spunky...}

  Hello everyone!
I am sharing my August design team project with you.
I used the stunning Bold and Brave collection by Celebr8 and good selection of amazing chipboard by Dusty Attic.

This is my husband Johan, and we have been married for 36 years, and for the last 24 years we have worked together in his Brokerage practice.  We are a mean team and the partnership is working so well for us. He has so much respect for my photography and scrapbook passion and is always willing to be the victim when I need photos.  I always tell him that I need to practice my shoots, but I know deep down he knows it is only an excuse to photograph him.  Words cannot explain how blessed I am to have him in my life.

This layout is a tribute to this awesome man.  He is not perfect, but to me he is, and he will do anything for me.  He brings balance to my life. He makes me laugh, and at the same time he drives me crazy. He is such an optimist and the most positive person I know.  His attitude is that every day is going to be a great day, that there is always something to be happy and thankful about. He never gives up on anyone or anything. He knows how to say sorry, forgive and he is known for his mercy...

Thank God everyday for your husband. Bring him coffee every morning (I am the lucky one, I get coffee in bed every morning, how blessed am I) Hug, hold hands, say I love you daily and above all, pray for your husband every day asking God to care for and bless your husband. There is no husband on earth who cannot benefit from the prayers of his wife.

Here is my layout.

This is how I treated the chippies.  I covered the words handsome, charming and spunky with black gesso.  The chevrons were also covered with black gesso.

I randomly covered the cogs, machine parts, broken diamonds, nuts, bolts and the industrial border with coarse gesso.  Once dried I covered all the parts with Americana acrylic paint in Traditional Burnt Umber and randomly dabbed with Americana acrylic paint in True Ochre and Georgia Clay.  I then added some finishing touches with Art Alchemy Wax in Bronze Age and Old Denim and dry brushed all the elements with white gesso. This is a very good alternative if you don't have rust paste.

I covered the Gauge Pointers with Old Denim Art Alchemy wax.

Here is close ups of the Mitform Castings that I used.

 Here I used the Finnabair Mechanical Mould.

Some more close ups.

When everything was glued down I added bronze micro beads and splatters with diluted white gesso, black ink and Art Alchemy acrylic paint in Rustic Brown.

These are the Dusty Attic chipboard pieces that I used.

{Happy little camper...}

Hello everyone!

How cute is the Travel Buddies collection designed by Lady Pattern Paper.  Also check out her Facebook page for more awesome inspiration This is my little grandson visiting us one weekend while we were camping. We love camping. What’s not to love, fresh air, camping food, connecting with your loved ones.

I used white AC cardstock as the base for my layout. I wanted to create a camping site at the bottom of my layout. I used my Silhouette to cut the trees, mushrooms, tent, sun, clouds and title. I fussy cut two birds from the Road Trip paper. I painted the very cute chipboard caravan with acrylic paint.

The Gypsy paper was cut in half and I trimmed 13cm from the top and used the clouds on the B side of the paper.  From the Return Ticket paper I cut 2 strips of 6 cm from the left side. The right side I will keep for another layout. I also cut strips from the Basic Essentials Candy Stripe – So Buff as well as the Basic Essentials Sheet Music (B Side) – Intense Teal.

Here is my layout.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I hope I have inspired you.
