{First day...}

 Hello everyone!

Welcome to the blog today.

My September design team layout features beautiful school chippies from Dusty Attic.

Our lives are filled with new events and experiences, and going to school for the first time is one of those very special events. How can one forget their first day?  I still remember my first day of school clearly.

My granddaughter started Grade 1 in January of this year.  She was so excited when she put on her school uniform for the first time. It was such a memorable day for the family.  She is so sweet, brave, and smart, and already made a lot of friends and beautiful memories.

A week after school started I arranged this photo shoot.

Here is my layout.

I included a folder and booklet with tabs in this layout.

Here is the inside of the folder.

Here is the booklet.  I will show photos of the inside as well.

All the chippies were first primed with a layer of white gesso and then painted
with Americana Acrylic paint.

For the Ombre effect on the title and word pack, I used Cool Blue at the top and Quilt Blue Heritage Acrylic Paint at the bottom and dry brushed with white acrylic paint in the middle.

I used a white Posca Pen as well as the Light Green to color the book stack.
I colored the apple with  and the bracket as well as the bracket on the folder with Sour Apple.

The broken bits numbers were painted with white acrylic paint and the edges were dry brushed with Cool Blue.

I colored these adorable little pencils with Posca Pens in Orange, Light Green, and Yellow.  I left the wood part of the pencil raw.

These Mini Me chippies are my favorite.  They are so cute!  They were colored in the same colors as the pencils.  I glued some of these Mini Me chippies to the title as well.
