{Explore and discover...}

 Hello everyone!

Here is my layout featuring the Vintage Artistry Shore collection with the laser cuts, ephemera stack and rub-ons. I had the perfect photo for this collection.

This is a photo of my daughter holding a collection of shells during our visit to Mozambique a few years ago.  Mozambique is a beautiful country to get away too, with warm weather and beautiful beaches. We went on a boat excursion to Pansy Island off the coast from Inhambane where we picked up some Pansy shells.

For this layout I used the Barrier Reef as my background. I changed the colour cast of the photo to black and white to suit my very colourful layout.  I also used a Katie Pertiet digital brush on my photo.  I added some rub-ons (I am totally in love with these rub-ons) and stamped on top of the rub-ons with the Shore stamp set.  I used the Explore and Discover phrase as the title of my layout. Next, I primed the background with clear gesso.  I added a design with a stencil and white crackle texture paste and added colour to the background using Distress Oxide in Broken China and Fired Brick.

Here is my layout.

I framed my photo using a stitched frame from the Coral Collection and layered this on ephemera die cut pieces.  The edges of each piece were inked and distressed. I glued the stack to the background on cardboard to give more dimension to my layout and to allow me to tuck in the laser cuts.

Next, I worked on the two clusters.  The Shore collection includes two stunning laser cut sheets. I used elements from both sheets with a few Dusty Attic chippies and die cuts. For the fish, fishnet and banners I used foam tape for dimension. I stamped a few shells from the Shore stamp set on craft paper and fussy cut them to add to my clusters.

some close ups.

Look at these amazing Dusty Attic chippies.  All the chippies were first covered with white gesso.  I painted the mini jelly fish with Americana Acrylic paint in True Ochre and Georgia Clay and dry brushed with white acrylic paint.
The sand dollars were coloured with Distess Oxide in Iced Spruce and Black Soot.
The ship wheel and anchor were painted with Americana Acrylic paint in Raw Umber, Georgia Clay and True Ochre.

To finish off my layout I added Wishing Bubbles in Crush, art stones and splatters with diluted white gesso.

These are the 49 and Market products that I have used.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  Happy crafting!
