{Family matters...}

Hello, 49 and Market fans!

I would like to share a layout I have created using the beautiful new Spectrum Sherbet 12x12 collection designed by Katie Pertiet. For this layout, I used the Strawberry Mango paper. Since the paper's design is so amazing, you don't need to do anything to it, although I did add some subtle background stamping with a script stamp.

This is a photo of my son and his beautiful family.

Here is my layout.

The matted photo was layered on pieces from the Spectrum Sherbet Essential Laser-cut elements, Curators, and Spectrum Sherbet Remnants.  These die-cuts come in solid colours and are perfect for layering.  Using the same script stamp, I randomly stamped on these die-cuts.  Another stunning addition to this collection is the Frame Set which includes chipboard and cardstock frames and journaling layers.

I also used a photo wrap from the V/A Naturalist laser-cut sheet and a bow and notebook laser cut from the V/A Mango laser-cut sheet.  All the edges were inked and distressed.

I then added rub-ons from the Spectrum Transfer sets, leaves, and palettes.  Oh wow, these are amazing!  I used a Dusty Attic title and Quoted Sentiment.

Spectrum Sherbet has stunning laser-cut elements.  Here you can see I used leaves and butterflies as well as a few acetate die-cut leaves.  I raised the die-cut leaves and butterflies on foam tape.

The flower clusters are made up of a variety of pretty blooms, foliage die-cuts, and Spectrum Sherbet laser-cut elements.

To finish off my layout I added beads, glitter, and splatters with diluted
white gesso.

{make a wish...}

Hello everyone!

Here is my layout inspired by the beautiful May mood board. This is my little grandson on his first birthday.

Jamesie, here is my message to you.

Today was extra special because you turned one and you spend the day with us. Grandpa, mommy, and I made a huge fuss to make sure you knew how precious you are to us.  It seems like just yesterday, that you were tiny and new. But the best thing of all is your life's only just begun. You bring so much joy to everyone's heart.  May every year of your life be filled with joy and happiness.

Here is the mood board.

and here is my layout.

All the chippies were first covered with a layer of white gesso.  To colour the chippies I used Americana Acrylic paint in Turquoise Blue, Whispering Turquoise, Baby Blue, Pineapple and Vintage Acrylic paint in Leopold Petrol. These balloon chippies are so cute, I love them. I added a few wordpl@y chippies, my favourite addition to my projects.

The edges of the painted chippies were dry brushed with white acrylic paint.  The polaroid frames are perfect for framing a photo that you want to highlight. Dusty Attic offers a collection of polaroid frames for different occasions. James is pictured here squeezing his cupcake.

As you can see in the photo below, Dusty Attic has a variety of stars.

{Discover new places...}

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the blog today.  I used beautiful Dusty Attic travel chippies and the paper is from the 49 and Market Vintage Artistry Anywhere collection for this layout.  In this blog post, I feature my grandson James, or Baby James as his cousins Mila and Janco call him. The day they immigrated to Australia, his dad took this photo at the OR Tambo Airport. The planes fascinated him.  It is a very special photo for me.  Everything about this little boy makes me miss him.  The sound of his voice, the way he laughs, his hugs, and his smell.

Here is my layout.

All the chippies were first covered with a layer of white gesso, except for the arrows and the camera.

It was so much fun coloring the chippies. I used Americana Acrylic paints to match the background paper.
Isn't the little passport adorable? And the suitcases are amazing with their handles and locks.

All the different travel icons are stunning.

 I raised some of the chippies on foam tape.

To finish off my layout I added enamel dots and, and splatters with diluted white gesso.
