{all I want for Christmas...} and {Magic...}

Hello everyone!

I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year, full of love, light, and blessings!  I hope your Christmas day was everything you expected and more, I know mine was.  I was honored to spend the day with my children and grandchildren {and my husband}.

I am sharing two Christmas layouts.  The first one is of my grandson Janco, and the second one is my granddaughter Mila.  These are photos I took last Christmas.

I used beautiful Dusty Attic chippies and the paper is from the 49 and Market Peace and Joy collection.

Here is my first layout.

All the chippies on both layouts were first covered with white gesso.  In both layouts, the stars and titles were painted with Americana Acrylic paint in Tuscan Red and Bahama Blue.  Once dry I covered them with glossy accents and sprinkled them with Ranger Stickles Fine Glitter in Christmas Red and Star Dust.

I painted the Christmas tree with Americana Acrylic paint in Hauser Light Green and used the back of a thin paintbrush and white acrylic paint for the dots. The bracket was painted with Americana Acrylic Paint in Bahama Blue and dry brushed the edges with white acrylic paint.

What a cute gnome and so much fun to paint!  And they can be used for any celebration, such as Christmas, Valentine's or any other time of the year.  I used Americana Acrylic paint diluted with water in Hauser Light Green, Tuscan Red, Bahama Blue, and Lamp Black for the shoes and buttons.  The edges of the white beard were dry brushed with Slate Grey.

Here I used two card sentiments.

This is my second layout. All the chippies were treated in a similar way as the first layout.

The Christmas tree was painted with Americana Acrylic paint in Hauser Light Green. The tree was decorated with stars.

Wordpl@y, my favorite addition.

{wonderful memories...}

 Hello everyone!

My layout was inspired by the beautiful December mood board featuring Dusty Attic chipboard pieces.  This mood board is STUNNING, to say the least.  Remember you have until the end of December to participate in the challenge. It's hard to believe this is my last layout for Dusty Attic in 2021!  I look forward to the mood board challenges for 2022, they are amazing!

Here is the mood board.

and here is my layout.

White gesso was first applied to all the chippies.

Foliage F28 and F26 were painted with Americana Acrylic paint in Mint Julep Green and the berries were heat embossed with Zing embossing powder in Mustard.
Leaves #2 were heat embossed with Ranger embossing powder in Terra Cotta.

For the title, I used American Acrylic paint in Peaches 'n Cream and Primary Yellow. Creating your own title is easy and fun using the Word Packs.

The beautiful Lacey Trims were painted in white acrylic paint.

Here you can see how I used the word tab and tag.

The final touches to this layout included art stones and splatters with diluted white gesso.

{always BELIEVE in yourself...}

Hello 49 and Market fans!

This is my first layout featuring the beautiful Vintage Artistry Mango 12x12 collection. The colors in this collection are just amazing and I really loved working with this collection. I used the B side of the Orange Blossom paper for this layout. I decided to keep the name strip with the words and butterflies on the bottom and trimmed the equivalent off the top of the paper.

To create the background I used a grid and postal stamp.  A layer of clear gesso is then applied to prime the background. Distress Oxide in Ripe Persimmon and Fossilized Amber is used to add color to the background.

Here is my layout.

Next, I added rub-ons from the V/A Teal/Mango Rub-on Transfers to the background.

My photo is layered over a frame from the laser cut sheet included in the V/A Mango 12x12 collection as well as pieces from the V/A Mango Ephemera stacks. Don't you just love the laser cut notebook I used?  I used a photo wrap and bow from the laser cut sheet to embellish my photo, a great addition to a layout. A few butterflies from the laser cut sheets always make their way onto my layouts.

To create the flower clusters I only used elements from the two laser cuts sheets and a few foliage die cuts.  Because my layouts are usually filled with flowers, I challenged myself not to use any paper flowers. I raised a few elements on foam tape. I added a clip from the V/A Essentials set of white arrows.

The final touches to this layout included these beautiful wishing bubbles and baubles also from the V/A Mango 12x12 collection.

{Special moments...}

 Hello 49 and Market fans!

This is my last layout for 2021!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas surrounded by family and friends, and are looking forward to the New Year!

My layout features the beautiful Vintage Artistry In the leaves 12x12 collection. I used the Seasoned paper for this layout. I stamped the background using a script stamp. This is a photo of my daughter from a winter photoshoot a few years ago.

Here is my layout.

The photo is framed with a V/A Essentials rectangle stitched frame, and layered over pieces of ephemera from the V/A In the leaves collection as well as elements from the laser cut sheets to create layers. I distressed and inked these pieces I also used a V/A Essentials square file frame and a tab.

I added rub-ons from the V/A In the leaves to the corners and under the flower cluster. I used leaves, script, and words.  The colors are simply spectacular!

I used Majestic Bouquet and Royal Posies in Tomato, Rustic Bouquet and Blooms in Marigold, Royal Posies in Olive, and Sugar Stems in Tutti Frutti to create the flower cluster. I added leaves and stems from the laser cut sheet.  Here you can also see the V/A Essentials rectangle stitched frame.

Here is another close-up of the flower cluster.

{Laughter makes the world a happier place...}

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the blog today.  This blog post features my grandson James, as well as beautiful Dusty Attic chipboard designs.  The pattern paper I am using is Simple Vintage Weathered Garden designed by Katie Pertiet for Simple Stories.  This collection is simply stunning.

My first layout for December 2020 was of this little boy's newborn feet.  And here he is, all grown up and super cute.  I love this photo from their family photoshoot.  He looks so happy.  Although I enjoy watching Jamesie grow up, there are moments when I wish the time would slow down a bit, and I'm sure his mommy would agree.

James, your laughter is priceless.  I love the way you laugh.  Your laughter is infectious and pure joy.  It is impossible not to smile when you laugh.  There is a sense of wonder in your laughter.  You should never lose that.  You are such a joyous little boy.  What more could I want out of life than to laugh with you every day.

Here is my layout.

All the chippies were first covered with white gesso, except for the butterflies.  They were colored with Art Alchemy Metallic Wax in Mint Sparkle and Patina Blue.
I dry brushed the beautiful Botanical Ring with Americana acrylic paint in Bahama Blue and Mint Julep Green.

For the Ombre effect on the title, I used Americana acrylic paint in Spa Blue, Bahama Blue, and White.

Foliage F10 was heat embossed with white embossing powder.
Foliage F4 was painted with Americana acrylic paint in Bahama Blue and Mint Julep Green and dry brushed with white acrylic paint.
Foliage F24 was painted with Green Mist and dry brushed with white acrylic paint.

I also used my favorite Wordpl@y elements.

These are the Dusty Attic chipboard pieces that I have used.
