{Sweet memories...}

Hello Dusty FANattics!

Here is my layout inspired by the amazing May mood board. I just love the shades of purple, lilac and blues. I had the perfect photo for this mood board, my sweet little granddaughter.  I took this photo of her during a visit to Cullinan, a beautiful mining settlement with the most beautiful blooming Jacaranda trees.

Here is the mood board.

 and here is my layout

All the chipboard pieces were first primed with white gesso.

I embossed the word "sweet" with Zing Lavender embossing powder.  The beautiful Iron Garnish was covered with white gesso and dry brushed with Versa Magic in Pink Petunia.
The Foliage were treated the same way as the Ginko Biloba, except that I did not use coarse gesso.

Next I covered with Wordpl@y #2 and #3 with white gesso as well, making sure I get into the letters. Once dry I lightly covered the words with a sponge brush and Art Alchemy in Blue Lagoon, Electric Violet and Vintage Gold and Versa Magic in Pink Petuna.

I randomly covered the Ginko Biloba with coarse gesso then covered with white gesso. Once dry I lightly covered it with a sponge brush and Art Alchemy in Blue Lagoon, Electric Violet and Vintage Gold.

The branches and berries were painted with Americana acrylic paint in Blue Mist and Pansy Lavender and I covered the berries with Glossy Accents.

These are the Dusty Attic chipboard pieces that I used.

{Great outdoors...}

Hello everyone!

Today I am sharing a layout with you using a photo of my husband. I have so much appreciation for him and love him madly!  He knows scrapbooking is my passion and is always so willing to pose for photos.

Here is my layout.

This is how I coloured the chipboard pieces .

I love the Reeds, and they are perfect for this photo. The Reeds, Grass Cluster, Sea Grass were all treated the same way.
 The flowers of the Reeds was first covered with coarse gesso.  Once dry, I covered the rest of the Reeds with white gesso. The flowers were painted with brown acrylic paint and the leaves and stems with shades of green.  I then dry brushed the Reeds with white, gold, white and rust acrylic paint.

How super cute are these Toad Stools. The stems were first covered with coarse gesso.  Once dry, I covered it with white gesso, the with beige and brown acrylic paint. I inked the coarse parts with a brown ink pad and the edges with black.

I inked the tiny bird nest with Brilliance Chocolate.
I had this spider and web for many years and is perfect for this outdoor layout. The spider and web as well as the title were coloured with black acrylic paint.

I covered the Bard Wire Circle with Rust Effect Paste and dry brushed with white acrylic paint and Bronze Ages Metallique wax.
The Wood Slices and Drift Wood were inked in brown and black.

These are the Dusty Attic chipboard pieces that I used.

{Live beautifully...}

Hello everyone!

Today I have another layout to share with you and of course I have used lots of Dusty Attic goodness!

 This layout features my beautiful daughter.

The April mood board was so beautiful, and I just had to used it again!  I was inspired by the lemons, limes and grapefruit to create this layout. I used my Silhouette to cut out the limes and grapefruit, which I inked with Versa Magic Chalk Ink in Pink Grapefruit, Aloe Vera and Hint of Pesto for dept and dimension. On the edges I used Brilliance Chocolate.

Here is the mood board.

and here is my layout.

To create the watercolour effect on the white card stock I dabbed Distress Oxides on plastic packaging.  Spitz with water, fold in half, open and stamped onto the white background until I achieved the desired look.  I used these colours : Shaded Lilac, Mowed Lawn and Ripe Persimmon.

Next step was to colour the chipboard pieces.

The Word Titles were simply painted with acrylic paint.  I used Americana in Sour Apples, Melon and Avocado. I inked the bird nest with Brilliance Chocolate and Versa Magic in Hint of Pesto.

The Leafy Frame Set were cut into small pieces and tucked under the flowers.  They were covered with Versa Magic in Aloe Vera and Hint of Pesto and dry brushed with white acrylic paint.
The Foliage were coloured with Americana Acrylic paint in Melon and Pansy Lavender and dry brushed with white acrylic paint.

Here are some close-ups.
