{Love always...}

Hello everyone!

Can you believe April is almost over?  I hope you all had a very blessed Easter.

Winter is coming, and although we usually have a fairly warm climate in South-Africa, the winters can get pretty chilly! Perfect for creating!

Here is my layout inspired by the beautiful April mood board. Check out the Dusty Attic blog for more inspiration.

This is my daughter on her wedding day. It was such a wonderful and perfect day.  Every time  I look at her wedding photos I am overwhelmed by the beautiful woman she has become.

Here is the mood board.

and here is my layout

This is how I treated the chippies.

 I embossed the title as well as the word disk with Zing Lavender embossing powder.

How absolutely beautiful is this Decorative Frame. I embossed the frame with Ice Enamels Relique embossing powder and then dabbed with gold and white acrylic paint.

I covered these cute bird houses and the foliage with Lilac acrylic paint and randomly dabbed with gold and white acrylic paint.

When everything was glued down I added beads and splatters with white diluted white gesso and black ink.

Some close-ups.

These are the Dusty Attic chipboard pieces that I used.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I hope you find some time to play along with this mood board.  Visit the Dusty Attic website for more beautiful chipboard designs.

Until next time.

{You light up my life...}

Hello everyone!

Today I am sharing my March design team project with you using some beautiful Dusty Attic Chipboard. These are photos of my daughter, I took a few years ago. I used the beautiful Mintay collection Life Stories.

Here is my layout.

To create a mixed media background, I used a stencil with modelling paste.  I then used a bingo clear stamp and Distress Oxides to add colour to the background.

The next step was to colour the chipboard pieces.  Here are some close-ups.

The title,  clockworks and foliage were coloured similarly.  I used Americana acrylic paint in Green Mist and Ochre and dry brushed with white acrylic paint.

For the industrial globes is used Americana acrylic paint in Gray and Ochre and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Some more close-ups.

When everything was glued down I added microbeads and made splatters with diluted white gesso and black ink.

These are the Dusty Attic chipboard pieces that I used.

I also used these beautiful Dusty Attic pearls.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope I have inspired you.
Until next time.
Please visit the Dusty Attic website for more exciting chipboard designs.

{You colour my world...}

Hello everyone!

Today I am sharing my first design team layout for Lady Pattern Paper. I am feeling so blessed to be part of her team. For my overseas friends, Lady Pattern Paper is a designer from Cape Town, and she enriches the scrapbook industry in South-Africa with her stunning and fun-filled designs.

This is her absolutely beautiful new collection Bon Crayon. It's all about butterflies, hearts, stripes, confetti, daisies, everything cute, trendy and pretty, a rainbow of colours and patterns. Who doesn't love pretty paper?

To compliment the name of this collection I stamped the flowers, leaves, butterflies and birds on water colour paper, coloured with distress oxides and fussy cut. The chipboard elements were painted with craft paint.

Here is my layout.

This is the sketch I used, design by Jennifer Hedger.

and some close-ups.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope I have inspired you.
